Korinthos
Here is the Corinth's canal,
in Greek Korinthos. Located at 80 km from Athens,
towards the Peloponnesus,
you really got know that the canal
is there, as it is represented under the bridge ! you have to leave the highway
at the exit : loutraki.
Long of 6km and wide of 24,6m, the bridge is at 70m high. The big ferries stop
the engine and a tiny boat pulls it, this is
very amazing !
At the entry of bridge with the yellow fences , there are some vendors of tapes
and souvenirs, we always hear the famous Zorba, this is very typical
!

For
the little Story, at the beginning, the boats were moved on carts, from the
Corinth's golf to the Saronic one.
Neron launched the works in 67 AC, but the project was stopped
at his death in 68. This is only in 1882 that the canal was achieved.
